I don't know the exact reason for this post, other than it's mostly just to blow off some steam. For those of you who can't stand bloggers who only blog about the "good" things in life, you'll enjoy this one...
Nothing makes me more frustrated than car maintenance. As far as the engine goes, the only work I'm familiar with is popping the hood to get a good view. As luck would have it, the ac on the Xterra went out just before the 4th of July weekend. Perfect. We decided to wait and take it in after the busy holiday to get looked at. So today I waited for over an hour at an auto repair shop only to have the guy tell me he doesn't know why it's not working...more tests are going to need to get done, which will only cost MORE STINKING MONEY!!!! I'm ticked. Why couldn't he just say, "Yeah, here's the problem...we can fix it in five minutes, and your total out of pocket will be about $10"? It's never that simple with cars. And that's why I hate car maintenance so dang much.
So until we figure out how to come up with some large, unknown amount of money, I get to drive around in a dark leather interior SUV with no air conditioning in July. I know you're all jealous!
I'm gladly accepting snow cones, Slurpees, fruit smoothies and the like as a token of your sympathy.

It could be worse, you could be living in Phoenix where its a 116 degrees and your ac doesn't work! But i'm glad you poseted something not happy, it always ticks me off looking at blogs and everything is perfect and happy! BLAH....
I feel your pain...or rather Scott does. He went for 2 years without AC in San Antonio with black leather interior. Oh the joys of being too cheap to fix your car. Car maintenance definitely came after the fall.
Oh, and you should totally start keeping all your clothes and underwear in the freezer! That should help!
I like the idea of keeping your underwear in the freezer...you should definitely do that. Why have I never thought of that when pregnant? Sheesh!
I hate car stuff...but I love blog posts that are REAL and not just about rainbows and sunshine. :) Best of luck with the heat!
i hear ya steph! the ac in my jeep has been in and out for the past year! Some days it works, some days it doesn't. I should probably get it in to the shop too, but i feel about the same as you on car maintenance. i wish i knew more about cars so that i'd really know if the shop is being honest when they say a bolt for a specific car part, that i can't live without, really does cost 2 billion dollars. oh well! till the sucker blows up, i'll just keep drivin it! hahaha probably should knock on wood for that comment!
p.s. i have a car rant on my blog too. it's the very first post i posted! haha
sympathy granted my dear. what is it with cars? I would love to meet up for snow cones...we are borderline obsessed with them this summer!
BUD! That SERIOUSLY licks the bag! So sorry that happened to you. I like what Paige said...keep your wardrobe in the freezer. Better yet, just get one of those car freezer/cooler things and drive with your feet/hands/head/booty in it so that you can keep cool! I'll mail you a Rainbow Snow. Should be nice and delish when it arrives! :)
